What We Accept
Please Note:
Donation Pick-Up Request Form: habitattbay.com/donate-stuff (pictures of donations are required for pick-ups; thank you for your cooperation) or contact the store at 807 346-4884 Ext 2 with questions.
Donation pick-up items must be on ground level in the home, garage, deck, driveway, or curbside (we will not remove items from the second floor or the basement).
Approved upholstered furniture must be from a smoke-free home with no rips, tears, or stains in the fabric.
A Tax Receipt will be given upon donors’ Request. (Please note: Tax Receipts will be given out by February of the following Year of the donation).
On Occasion, our ReStore will temporarily defer potential donations until there is space in the ReStore to accommodate the
donation.
The ReStore Reserves the right to deny a donation at the store or during a pick-up based on the item’s condition.
Donation Drop-off Hours: 9:30 am to 5:00 pm
Donations are only accepted during donation drop-off hours.
Acceptable Donations
- Antiques
- Appliances (Large Appliances subject to a Refundable Appliance Testing Fee)
- Bathtubs Neutral Colors (White or Off-white)
- Blinds (no strings)
- Bricks, Pavers, Patio Stones – Must be clean – Drop-off Only
- Building/Construction Materials
- Doors (interior and exterior, antique) Electrical Supplies
- Electronics (Flat Screen TVs, Computers, stereos, accessories)
- Gently Used Clothes
- Housewares items and Décor
- Furniture
- New Hardwood/Laminate Flooring (complete boxes)
- Kitchen and bathroom cabinets
- Kitchen and bathroom fixtures and sinks
- Lumber (clean, minimum six foot long, no nails)
- New Latex paints, stains and sealers
- Seasonal Goods (Current Season Preferred)
- Tables and chairs
- Toilets six litres and less, neutral colour (White or Off-White Only)
- Tools Hand and powered – working condition
- Plumbing fixtures/fittings
- Windows
Unacceptable Donations
- Non-Working Appliances
- Baby Furniture
- Blinds with Strings
- Fluorescent light Tubes, bulbs, or Fluorescent light fixtures
- Hazardous Chemicals/Waste
- Under Counter Dishwashers (Portable Dishwashers may be accepted)
- Large Entertainment Units/Book Shelves/Wall Units
- Glass or Mirrors unframed
- Mattress/Box Springs
- Oil Based/Used Paint or stain
- Pianos/Large Organs (Small keyboard may be accepted)
- Sofa Beds
- Tube TVs
- Used Carpeting
- Un-bagged/Used Insulation (Must be clean and bagged)
- Unboxed/Used Flooring
- Non-Working Electronics
